Honda Super Bowl Ad has Ferris Bueller, Mystery is Solved

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a classic movie from the 80s. Matthew Broderick played a cool high school kid with lots of tricks up his sleeves. As reported earlier today, the internet has lit up today because of a 10 second teaser video featuring Matthew Broderick playing Ferris Bueller.

So far nobody had any intel on who the mystery Super Bowl Advertiser is behind the Ferris Bueller teaser. Car site Jalopnik reports now that it is Honda. Early January we reported that the 60 second Honda Super Bowl ad will feature the new Honda CR-V. We did not have any information about the ad besides that it would follow the Leap List campaign. This lead us to believe that the Honda Super Bowl 2012 would not be in anyway spectacular.

Update 01/30/12:
Honda Super Bowl 2012 Ad with Ferris Bueller is confirmed.

Jalopnik says that they got the inside information from a source familiar with the Honda Operations. The Honda Super Bowl 2012 Ad would feature actual scenes from Ferris Bueller's Day Off movie, just replacing the cars with Honda CR-Vs. 

The Honda Super Bowl ad is supposed to be created by The Hangover writer and director Todd Philips. 

If all this is true, than Honda has a chance to land the best commercial of Super Bowl 2012. To illustrate how big Ferris Bueller still is you just have to look at the number of views on the Ferris Bueller Teaser video. Within less than 24 hours over 1.2 million have watch it on Youtube. This video is seriously viral and could challenge the Volkswagen Super Bowl Teaser.
