Doritos Super Bowl 2012 Ad Contenders, Which Ad makes it into the Super Bowl?

The Doritos Crash The Super Bowl Ad contest is back and as reported all submissions are now available in an online video gallery. On January 4th of 2012, Doritos will publish the five finalist Super Bowl Ad 2012 contenders and you can vote for the finalist ad that airs during the Super Bowl 2012. Doritos will also unveil the Lonely Island's Super Bowl 2012 Doritos Ad before the Super Bowl 2012 on the Crash the Super Bowl site. Doritos hired this year The Lonely Island production company run by the comedians Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer to produce a Doritos ad for the Super Bowl. I am already very excited to see that.

In the meantime I had a look at the submissions to the Doritos Super Bowl Ad contest. Based on the most views the rather unusual Phantomask 1 Ad would be the current front runner. A guy wearing a mask and poncho is dancing to (cool) techno beats has over 100,000 views. The closest ad entry has about half that amount. Will Phantomask be among the 5 ads Doritos chooses? I have my doubts, as Doritos would have to break with their usual ways. Doritos always aired funny Super Bowl ads. Lot's of times skids with dogs.
Fitting the typical Doritos Super Bowl Ad are the ads following the Phantomask ad in terms of views. the Doritos Standoff by AandMbrothers has what it takes to be a Doritos Super Bowl commercial. Two guys face off with chips and every Doritos crunch lets a blond bombshell appear. 

The I'm Sorry Ad by idwowfilms uses a couple's relationship as basis for a funny ad. Always a winner is an ad staring a smarty pants kid. The Game On Ad by kristibeee is having one of those funny ads with a kid.

On the current fifth place is probably my favorite Doritos Crash the Super Bowl Ad 2012. It is called Zulu 9er: No Chip Left Behind by armkaleka. It has a baby, hot moms and fighter plane action. I definitely see Zulu 9er in the final five Doritos Ads that will be presented for public vote on January 4th, 2012.
